Although Emily’s Path often lends support by way of grants to benefit an individual child, we recognize that we can touch the lives of many children by supporting other child-centered organizations in our community. After visiting the Boys and Girls Club of the Wausau Area, our co-founder, Dale Eaton, was so impressed by the work being done there, and by the large number of children served by the Boys and Girls Club every day, that providing support from Emily’s Path was a no-brainer. Last month, Emily’s Path gave $2,500 to theBoys and Girls Club of the Wausau Area.
The Wausau Boys and Girls Club serves more than 2,300 Wausau-area members, with an additional 8,500 through outreach initiatives including after-school programs. The club has been active in Wausau for 15 years and serves more than 250 children every day. Wausau’s Boys and Girls Club provides kids with coordinated programs in the areas of homework help, computer skills, community service, college and career exploration, fitness & nutrition, positive decision-making, music, art, and recreational activities. For a first-hand look at this wonderful resource for children in our community, the Boys and Girls Club invites you to stop in and visit any time. The club is located at 1710 N. Second Street, Wausau. They are open 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm on school days, and 7:00 am – 5:30 pm on non-school days.
