The Judy Peterson Dance Studio has donated $2,000 to Emily’s Path from its recent contemporary production of The Nutcracker. A theatrical production such as The Nutcracker is not something the dance studio had done before. But dance leader Krystle Drees wanted to take on the challenge and donate all of the proceeds to charity. Her father suggested looking for a local charity to support and, Krystle said, “When I went online and saw Emily’s Path I knew this was the right one, and the kids jumped in and got behind it.”
The production, which included 34 dancers, received tremendous support from local businesses, including Dave Junion Photography and Kwik Trip. The dancers and their families put in countless hours to make the production a reality, and we are humbled and grateful to be the beneficiaries of their talent, hard work and generosity. Krystle says they hope to make this an annual tradition, performing classics with a contemporary twist, and donating the proceeds to charity. They are truly making the world a better place, one smile at a time.
