This spring, we were contacted by the mother of a high school freshman from central Wisconsin. Her son, Noah, who has spina bifida, is participating on his school’s track & field team, in wheelchair events. The throwing events require an adaptive chair that provides the stability, positioning and freedom of motion required for throwing shotput.

Emily’s Path worked with Eagle Sports Chairs in Georgia to have a field event throwing chair made for this aspiring athlete. His mom reports that Noah is really loving track and being part of his school team. Noah qualified for the State Track meet as a freshman, where he won the 400- and 800-meter titles in the wheelchair division, placed second in the 100-meter race, and took fourth place in the shotput. We suspect that Noah has a lot more track and field medals in his future.
